Amara Barbará

Amara Barbará is a skilled appellate advocate, equipped to defend favorable trial-court outcomes or pursue appellate relief when unjust rulings impact her clients. Her ability to identify and frame appellate issues early in litigation adds strategic value throughout the life of a case. In addition to her appellate work, Ms. Barbará’s practice encompasses complex litigation, with a particular emphasis on professional liability matters and business disputes. She has substantial experience in both federal and state courts, managing cases from inception through trial and achieving successful outcomes through attentive and comprehensive motion practice. Beyond the courtroom, she is adept at representing clients in mediation and increasingly in arbitration, where her command of procedural nuances proves especially critical.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Barbará litigated consumer warranty protection matters and worked extensively on consumer class actions and products liability cases. She also clerked for several local law firms.

Ms. Barbará earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society and served as both the Vice President, and the President, of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. During law school, she competed internationally in both Hong Kong and Vienna arbitrating commercial disputes.

Within the community, Ms. Barbará is an active member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego, the San Diego County Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. In her free time, Ms. Barbará enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and exercising her competitive streak in all things sports.
